Walking!

Sweet baby girl is walking 25 or 30 steps at a time now!  This is a little video I took on our first-ever picnic at the library.

Devyn is the best alarm clock.  Luckily, Pop didn't seem to mind.

This was so funny.  She was clearly telling us a story.  She went on like this for easily five minutes before I grabbed the video camera.  

This was two weekends ago at the Yellow Scene Super Kids Expo.  Devyn LOVED the petting zoo.

She kept saying, "dog! dog! dog!"

I don't remember what she was doing that I thought I was going to video here, but the result is pretty funny anyway! 

40 weeks and 4 days: Updates

I really stink at remembering to get the photos and videos off my iPod, so here is a BIG little update with stuff we've been doing.

We have pretty much finished baby proofing the house: outlet covers, a gate at the top and bottom of the stairs, and locks on just two cabinets with dangerous stuff.  Everything else is not dangerous, and therefore we're just going to tell her no.  She listens pretty well now, too.

 This was just a snap I took while we were playing in her room.

This one is hard to see, but I took it to show how she's sleeping on her face a lot now.  The back of her head is to the left, if that helps.  ;)

We borrowed one of the baby gates from my friend Jennifer, and when we went to pick it up, her whole adorable family wanted to play with Devyn.  They even got out an old exersaucer for her to play with!

This is a funny thing Dev's been doing with the dining room chairs.

37 weeks, 4 days: Avocado

This kiddo LOVES her avocado.  And I think she's started doing some signs, as you'll see in the video.

She does, however, end up wearing a lot of it.

24 weeks, 6 days: Exersaucer

I picked this up at the Just Between Friends pre-sale last night.  It was $25 and in great condition!  I thought Devyn might like something like this.  Turns out, she LOVES IT!

Maybe the best $25 I've spent in quite a while!

20 weeks: Devyn's Day in Pictures

In honor of Devyn's impending 5-month birthday, I thought I would document just a normal day we spend in photos. And here it is.

After breakfast, we start with a little play mat time.

And quickly end up slightly off the play mat.  Generally, she plays on her mat or sits in her buzzy chair while I eat breakfast.

Then we went for a walk. It was a little cool, so she got to wear her super cute hat.

We took a new path and I found grapes to pick!  So delicious.  I'm going to make grape jelly.

Where the sidewalk ended.  You can see Standley Lake and the mountains in the distance.

But Devyn missed the view in favor of dreamland.

Changing pants (and clothes).  She loves the mobile Grandma bought her at IKEA.

Then she had some tummy time while I changed clothes.

More play mat time while I unloaded the dishwasher.

This is her new favorite form of communication.

Then it's burrito time!  Time for another nap.

More play mat time!  We do this a lot.  This time, she practiced rolling over.

No more photos, please!

After Daddy gets home and we have some dinner, it's bath time!

Then we put on our PJs and eat—I mean, READ—stories.

And that's pretty much what our days look like right now!  Very exciting stuff!

I couldn't figure out how to video her laughing for the longest time, (because I have to tickle her to get her to do it) but this is the best I could get so far!

18 weeks, 5 days: Catching Up

Here's a BIG photo post, catching up with what I've taken over the last two weeks!


This was taken right after she got her four-month shots (notice the neon band-aids on her legs!). Poor woobie slept most of the day.

I bought her a snowsuit at a consignment sale, and I couldn't resist trying it on her. It's a little large...


Everything's cute the first time she does it! She took those puppies right off my face.


This was mostly to show the scale of the zucchini.

I took this at a restaurant. Brandon was trying to keep her happy while we were waiting for our check, and I thought it was funny for some reason!

17 weeks, 5 days: Good morning!

She is usually pretty excited to see me in the morning, and today was no exception. I think she was playing in her crib for nearly 10 minutes before I went in there.

Today we go get our four-month checkup and shots. I hate to ruin her good mood, but it has to be done!

16 weeks, 4 days: Scoot

I think I mentioned before that Devyn had learned how to scoot. It's only a matter of time before I find her half way across the room, I think!

In other news, we are headed to the doctor this afternoon because Dev has been pulling on her left ear. She doesn't have any other symptoms, but everyone tells me that ear infections can move fast, so I'm not taking any chances.

15 weeks, 3 days: That Sqwish is Delish!

The Sqwish is Devyn's favorite toy at the moment, followed at a close second by Sophie the Giraffe.

14 weeks, 5 days: Goo

9 weeks 6 days: Bumbo!

7 weeks, 4 days: Shake Rattle and Roll

I was pretty impressed with this little turn of events.

Devyn weighs 9 pounds now! The nurse at the breastfeeding group said she's growing like a weed and that we should keep doing whatever we're doing.

She's also gotten a lot more regular, which I'm chalking up to the bottle of formula each night.

Another great accomplishment: her happy baby vocabulary is growing, and we're hearing more and more as she decides to "talk" about lots of things. Very fun!

My mom and her coworkers requested more video (as in, any) and who am I to disappoint?

Actually, I glibly said that all I had to video was Dev eating, sleeping, or crying. But then, she went and did this, just to prove me wrong. :)
