Fwd: Boggs

Playing "shape twister" with our parent educator!

Feelin' Fancy for Photo Day

I decided we should go get her hair done for photo day, and she felt pretty fancy with her "princess hair!"

Fingerpainting

I asked if she wanted to paint and she said, "Can I paint with my fingers?"

Art post!

Taking pictures of her art makes me feel less guilty about recycling it.  ;)

I'm especially fond of the chick. Hers was the only one with a proper face!  :)

Words to Remember

Dev: I want a treat.
Brandon: Well, I want a pony.
(Dev disappears, comes back a moment later with a My Little Pony)
Dev: Here you go, Dad.
Brandon: ...Well... Crap.

At dinner the other night:

Dev: Can I try that?
Me: No, that's a grown up drink. (beer) You can't have any until you're 21.
Dev: But whyyyyyyyyy?
Me: Well, maybe if you're 18 and you want to drink at home instead of going to a skeezy party, we'll talk.
Dev: (Giving me a very skeptical look.) That's not going to work.

At least she's honest!

On my birthday:

Dev: Good morning mama! Happy birthday! Don't get stuck in your birthday cake!

Girl knows me too well...

Playing Veterinarian

This week at school, the teachers asked us to bring in some stuffed animals and props because they were going to play pet store, so I decided to extend the play at home.

I got out her corn and beans and we played filling up different containers for pet food.
Here, she is feeding her pet spider.

I also included a veterinarian area—with a cute printable I found online.  She REALLY liked playing doctor!
Filling out paper work.

Taking her own temperature.

Brushing monkey.

Putting bandages on monkey's boo boos.

Giving monkey some medicine.

This was a big hit!  This morning (two days later) she told me she wanted to be a doctor.  Oh, and not just any doctor—a princess doctor.  (Not entirely sure if that is a princess who is a doctor or a doctor who treats princesses, but either way.)

I'm so sorry...

Yesterday, Dev left her lovie at school, and so we had to go back (in the snow) to get it.

As we were coming out again, with her lovie clutched tightly in her hands, she started saying, "I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry!"

"Are you talking to me?" I asked her.

"No mom," she said. "I'm talking to Lovie."
